Hey folks,
I know this is a may come a little out of the blue but after some heartfelt thought I have decided to stop doing the podcast.  I have been finding it increasingly hard to find the time to produce the show to the quality that I would like and am beginning to fear that I am repeating myself and not staying fresh.  This decision was not easy to make and I know I am going to miss doing the show a lot.  I have had an absolute ball podcasting for the past nearly 2 years and have made some wonderful friends in the process.  Thankyou to everyone that has downlodaded the podcast and enjoyed it and sent me lovely emails - you guys are the best.
The past shows should still be available for the next month so download them now while you have the chance.
Take care.

I got some great submissions, here we go.

John B.- A grasshopper walks into a bar.
The bartender says, "Hey, I've got a drink named after you!"
The grasshopper replies, "You have a drink named 'Jim'??"

Cool B - Man goes in a bar...
No pretzels, no chips, just mangos.

Rachel -
What did the dyslexic cat say when he walked into a bar?
 Ow Me

Wayne from the UK (courtesy of Ben Folds)- A pirate walked into a bar with a captains wheel tucked down the front of his pants.  The bartender says "Did you know you have a captain's wheel tucked down the front of your pants?"  And the pirate says "I know, it's driving me nuts!!"

And my personal fave -  A bra walks into a bar carrying a set of jumper cables.  The bartender says "I can't serve you mate - look at you.  First of all you're off your tits and secondly you look like you want to start something."

A big thanks to George Garner for alerting me to this fact. I mentioned in episode 34 that I had trouble tracking down the first song to become number one by a female artist. Well George had no trouble at all - here is a copy of his e-mail -
"But I was surprised by the difficulty you had finding the first female song to top the charts. I'm not sure if you're aware of the great almanac by Joel Whitburn called The Billboard Book of Top 40 Singles. He puts one out every four years and it lists every song and artist that ever hit the top 40 from 1955 to the publish date. And it shows that, in fact, the first 3 #1 songs on the Top 40 charts were from women: 1. Joan Weber, "Let Me Go Lover" (01/01/1955) 2. The Fontane Sisters, "Hearts of Stone" (02/05/1955) 3. The McGuire Sisters, "Sincerely". (02/12/1955) Those songs spent 4, 3, and 10 weeks at number 1 respectively. So for the first four-ish months the Billboard Top 40 chart was published, women ruled!"

The song "The Night that the lights went out in Georgia" was released in 1973.   It is about a man who meets his best friend Andy in a bar called Webs for a drink after a two-week trip. Andy reveals that the wife has been cheating on him with another man, whose name is Seth Amos. Andy also reveals that he has "been with her himself." Later that evening, the man gets his gun and goes to Andy's house to kill him, but finds that someone has already killed Andy. The police arrive after the man shoots his gun to catch their attention, and he is arrested at the scene, is tried, wrongly convicted, and hanged. The narrator then reveals that she is the man's sister and was the one who shot Andy, and killed her brother's wife.
